  • Bluing remains on 70% of barrel
  • Scattered bluing on magazine and receiver case color hardening
  • Bayonet US stamped and 1900 dated with 1551 stamp on wood. Blade is sharp
  • Used in the Spanish American and Philippine American wars
  • 2,000 rifles taken to France but no evidence used in WWI
  • 500,000 made between 1894-1904
  • First smokeless round adapted by the US Military
  • US primary battle weapon for 9 years before replaced by the 1903
